Luke was fulfilling his dream of sailing the world's oceans. His boat 'Jonetsu' meaning 'Passion for Life' was aptly named for Luke totally believed in living life to the full. He did so with his infectious enthusiasm, energy and mischievous sense of humour.

I have met some truly wonderful people in my life and Luke was definitely one of them. Luke always wore a big smile and he possessed an even bigger and warm heart.
How I wish we could have sailed together again. The memory of you will never fade.
I will never forget you.

Dear Luke,
It was a lovery time to listen to your rose lecture at Kawashima engei on December in Shiga.
It didn't take a time to fall in love with English rose! I already have 6 kinds of it.
Your seleceted 'Princess Alexandra of Kent' will be remembrance of you forever.

Luke, I really miss you so much. You were one of the most gentle and attractive person who I had ever met in my life. Thank you for making me happy for our four years memories in Japan. Your rose advices are my treasure!!! I will call my little garden "Luke's Rose Garden." I want to make my garden feel like a romantic dream where everybody can visit to relax and heal. I will go on with our roses like the yacht goes forward. Someday I wish to see your smile again in heaven.
